2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games Results and Leaderboard
Day Three of the Games has wrapped, and both top spots are up for grabs!
The CrossFit Games are back, which means it’s time for the most obnoxiously in-shape people on the planet to find out who is definitively the Fittest on Earth®. The 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games occur from Aug. 3-7 in Madison, WI.
At the start of Day Four, Australian Ricky Garard leads the Men, and Tia-Clair Toomey leads the Women. Mallory O’Brien trails by 44 points, and Emma Lawson is in third. For the Men, Justin Medeiros in second and Roman Khrennikov is in third.
Editor’s Note: On Feb. 24, 2022, CrossFit released a statement in which they said they would not recognize the governments of Russia or Belarus throughout the 2022 season. As a result, CrossFit has removed Russian and Belarusian flags and names from the profiles of Individual and Team competitors.

Friday Results
After a rocky start — well, rocky for her — Tia-Clair Toomey is back on top of the leaderboard, leading 18-year-old Mallory O’Brien by just two points. And it appears that the “changing of the guard” is the vibe of the Individual Women’s division, with 17-year-old Emma Lawson in third, and Haley Adams (21) in fourth.
After a four-year suspension, Ricky Garard is in a pretty commanding lead. After Day Three, he leads 2021 Games champion Justin Medeiros by 25 points. Russian athlete Roman Khrennikov is behind Medeiros by 21 points — the top spot is still very much up for grabs.
Echo Bike Results
Event 7 — but really the eighth event on the leaderboard — rounds out Day Three in brutal fashion. The event is currently underway, with the men having wrapped. Will Moorad snuck out the win, with leader Ricky Garard logging his worst performance (he’s still in first overall). Justin Medeiros is still in second overall and managed to close the gap to Garard; he trails by just 25 points.
Alexis Raptis took Echo Bike — handily! Toomey extended her lead over O’Brien with a second-place finish, and Emma McQuaid of Ireland came in third.

Up and Over Results
Though it’s listed as Event Six by CrossFit, Up and Over is the seventh event of the CrossFit Games. (Event Two consisted of two workouts which were counted as separate events.)
Toomey’s stiffest competition remains against O’Brien, who refuses to let up. After Up and Over, Toomey has a mere five-point lead over the young American. Lawson of Canada isn’t too far behind, either, but will have to remain consistent if she wants to fend off Haley Adams.

Thursday Results
Day Two of the 2022 CrossFit Games was initially scheduled to be a rest day for Individuals and Teams. However, due to inclement weather on Day One, Individual Event Two — “Shuttle to Overhead” — was pushed into the rest day. Event Two featured a three-round combination of shuttle runs of increasing distance and max reps in the jerk within set time caps.

Wednesday Results
The CrossFit Games got off to a rocky start. There was confusion in Event One with athletes performing too few or too many bike laps, causing the leaderboard to sit in flux. The issue was eventually resolved, but then a storm caused a multi-hour rain delay between Team heats.
As a result, Event Two — which is set to be performed outside — was moved to Thursday, August 4. Thursday was a planned rest day for athletes.

Event One Results
Toomey was the obvious favorite going into the event. Though the Australian didn’t disappoint, it was American Haley Adams who came with with the win, finishing three seconds faster than the five-time Fittest Woman on Earth®. This was Adams’s first career event win at the CrossFit Games.

Note: There was confusion on the field as some athletes did not seem to complete the required number of laps during the biking portion of the event. After a few hours, CrossFit made an announcement in regards to how the event would be scored.
According to CrossFit, Spencer Panchik, Lazar Dukic, Danielle Brandon, and Elena Carratala Sanahuja missed laps. Their slowest lap time was added to their recorded time as a way to recalculate their final scores.
Seungyeon Choi logged an extra lap. CrossFit reviewed the footage and recorded the accurate time based on the work she was meant to put in.

Event Three Results
Due to poor weather, CrossFit moved Event Two to Thursday, Aug. 4, and skipped right to Event Three. This unique workout narrowed down the field in three phases, all of which were harder to complete on a technical level. Competitors had fewer pegboard climbs to contend with, but had to nail increasingly difficult jump rope and handstand walks.

The biggest shocker was that Tia-Clair Toomey didn’t make it past the first round, finishing the event in 23rd. It was her worst Games event performance since 2015, placing her in ninth overall.
In the final stage of Event Three, no woman could get past the double-under crossovers. Danielle Brandon, who ultimately won the event, was visibly frustrated.

Event Four Results
On any regular day, Elizabeth would see athletes blitz through a descending rep scheme of 21-15-9 for thrusters and ring dips. But this is the CrossFit Games, so you can safely assume that the event engineers are going to take whatever WOD exists and alter it just enough to challenge the fittest people on the planet.
This remix of Elizabeth — Elizabeth Elevated — swapped thrusters for squat cleans and ring dips for parallel dips with parallel bar traverses.

Arielle Loewen, Kara Saunders, and Mal O’Brien — who is having a stellar showing so far — were the top three for the Women. Pat Vellner, Björgvin Karl Gudmundsson, and Colten Mertens were the top three Men.

FAQs
Who won the CrossFit Games in 2021?
Last year, Tia-Clair Toomey of Australia clinched her fifth win in the Individual Women’s division, tying her with five-time Games winner Mat Fraser. If Toomey wins the Games this year, she’ll be the winningest Individual athlete of all time. Toomey is also a 2018 Commonwealth Games weightlifting champion, a 2016 Olympian (weightlifting), and holds the record for the most CrossFit Games event wins (33).
Justin Medeiros became the first man since Fraser’s dominant reign to win the Games. At 22 years old, Medeiros won just one event (out of 15) to capture his first Games victory. He placed out of the the top 10 just twice throughout the comp.
How much money can athletes win at the 2022 CrossFit Games?
The total prize pool is $2,845,000 across all divisions, which includes new payouts to the podium divisions of five Adaptive divisions.
